F&K Delvotec Braunau was founded as the subsidiary of F&K Delvotec Bondtechnik GmbH Ottobrunn in the Techno-Z Inn quarter in Braunau in 1994. In that year 3 employees built a total of 5 machines for the worldwide electronics industry. Customers were and still are Siemens, Epcos, Nortel, Ericsson, Read-Rite, Vishay, as well as many universities and research institutes.

Only 6 years later with the numbers of employees increasing fivefold, F&K Delvotec Braunau delivered more than 90 machines under the direction of Mr. Siegfried Seidl. More than average growth resulted in the need for further rented office and production space but due to constant demand for their products F&K Braunau quickly outgrew these premises again leading to president Dr. Farhad Farassat's decision to invest in their own 1300 m2 office and production facility in Braunau.

Milestones in F&K Delvotec Braunau's history 1994 - 2001:

1995

Development of a semi-automatic wire bonder, model 5400
The first machine was installed at DaimlerChrysler in Frankfurt in the same year. After running without problems for more than 6 years this very machine was to be upgraded for a deep-access application in 2000.
Since this first installation more than 200 machines have been sold and installed world wide and most countries now have at least one machine built by F&K Delvotec Braunau.

1998

Development of a completely new deep-access head
Today this deep-access head is amongst the world's best bond heads .
Further improvements are being made to the pivoting bond head now also equipped with the latest technology, such as the DC motor-piezo-clamp

1999

2 product innovations
The encapsulating machine, originally custom-designed, has run reliably ever since it was installed.
After a customer demonstration the improved pivoting head lead to an order for 25 machines
Viktor Klima, the Austrian Federal Chancellor at the time, visits F&K Delvotec Braunau – and makes the first bonds ever by a politician.
F&K Delvotec is certified to ISO 9001

2000

Development and production of the pull and shear tester 5600 - since the time of introduction, already 20 machines have been delivered.

2001

Further improvements on the pull and shear tester 5600 and the semi automatic models 5400

F & K Delvotec's philosophy of continuous improvement and development which resulted in Dr. Farassat being awarded the title "Entrepreneur of the Year" 2001 is very apparent in the Austrian subsidiary: If a team is bound together by a common goal success is virtually guaranteed.

The production premises in Braunau employs 20 – 25 electricians, mechanics, engineers and office staff.

2002

Siegfried Seidl, as the General Manager of F&K Delvotec Braunau, receives the Inn-Euregio-Award for cross-border cooperation.

2003

F&K Delvotec Braunau takes over the European distribution for the models 5400 and 5600.
