As long ago as 1984 when still part of the Black & Decker group, the need for a local support centre in Asia was recognised. Due to its geographical position Singapore proved to be the ideal choice - this marked the beginning of F&K Delvotec Bondtechnik GmbH & Co.KG, Singapore.
When F&K Singapore was founded, it was in charge of only three customers spread out in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. Only two people, sharing 1,000 square feet of office space, took on the mission to strengthen the presence of F&K in the Far East. They were in charge of Sales & Service and the Administration.
Today, F&K Delvotec Singa-pore has 12 employees, four of which work in the Sales Department, seven in the Service Department and one in the Accounts / Personnel Department.
In the fall of 2003, F&K Singapore moved into new offices.
Office size: The new office is approximately 325sqm. It is about 50% bigger than our old office in German Centre.
Reason of move: bigger demonstration area to be able to show more machines, including the Die Bonder and Heavy Wire Bonder
The customer base has in-creased more than thirteen-fold, now with more than 40 customers. Among them are all major semiconductor manufacturers.
Well over one thousand machines have been sold-in the Far East region and F&K Singapore is gearing itself to be ever more independent and self-sufficient, to take on new challenges of tomorrow’s advanced technology and increasingly complex customer requirements.
